Trying out the Exquisite palette from Gourmande Girls Cosmetics πŸ₯°Β  with looks created and swatches πŸ™ƒ lets talk β˜•

Indie 100% vegan and animal cruelty-free. Gourmande girls cosmetics owned by a woman! an amazing human being that creates superb products this is indeed the kind of company I love to support not only for the great products the brand makes but also for the big heart behind the brand.

Holaaa hellooo beauty! oh my goodness we are in September! The year is going in a flash! Crazy right. How are you, my friend? How is it going? I hope you are alright πŸ™ƒ without further ado let’s  jump in in this week episode

Note: I am not affiliated or sponsored by the brand but I do have a code that you can use for a 10% off your purchase and save some money πŸ™ƒ The code is: FEMENINE and is for all of us to enjoy! This post is just my personal opinion.

Gourmande Girls Cosmetics. Chances are some reading this has not heard about this brand as happens with many Indie brands. I just discovered Indie brands myself last year! But I am so glad I did they are very necessary as they are truly in my opinion a worthy contender to Mainstream brands. Gourmande Girls Cosmetics is indeed an amazing brand.

I discovered this brand by browsing Youtube. An influencer mentioned some brand names I looked them up on Instagram and this one caught my eye I ended up buying their spectra palette which is colorful and beautiful and some glitter. When the package arrived came with a very nice handwritten note which is surprising to see from a brand I thanked the brand on Instagram and the owner replied! We became instant friends which I still cannot believe how approachable the owner is to its customers. Let me tell you a bit about the brand:

The brand is owned by one Woman her name is Cristina who has Mexican roots the brand is 100% Vegan, animal cruelty-free, and uses her brand to do some good for her community like making donations to places like Lizzy’s Hospice which is an animal rescue that cares for senior animals like dogs who may not have a long lifespan. Also created fundraising for her friend with Cancer to help with the bills and supports small you tubers and artists to help them grow. Most definitely a woman to admire for her Heart but she also shines through her super affordable products. I was very satisfied with my first purchase and knew I wanted more so bought their Vivacious Palette and some more glitter!

Cristina one day surprised me by gifting me the Exquisite Palette for me to give my honest review which was so nice of her I felt so happy she noticed me your humble blogger here πŸ™ˆ is so surreal so let’s talk about this palette, shall we?

The palette contain 12 Shades

  • Supernova – reddish shimmer
  • Gaia – light orange-brown
  • Nebula – rich indigo
  • Dark Rift –  super matte black
  • The Core – golden champagne shimmer
  • Red Planet – orange matte
  • Andromeda – medium purple with iridescent gold reflects
  • Galactic-  medium gray with iridescent silver reflects
  • Milky Way – rich cream-colored shimmer
  • Sunshine – orange/yellow matte
  • Blue Moon – deep blue matte
  • Dead Planet – matte earth brown

I found the Palette to be pigmented which I look for when buying makeup sometimes I get disappointed when a purchase does not turn out to be pigmented but the palette is pigmented. Gaia and sunshine do need little building up but these types of colors do need that on medium toned skin I recommend putting a white base to make them pop more πŸ™ƒ The mattes blend effortlessly which I love and the shimmers are sublime, they are not high shine or super sparkly but they give a touch that lights up the look and makes it look ethereal! They do offer glitters that are sparkly and shiny offered in a variety of colors that are so pretty I love them they pair well with any look and what I love the most is that no glitter glue is needed you just apply it with your finger and they last all day I have not seen a glitter that you don’t need glitter glue in my experience.

I tested this palette for a week and tried all colors I can honestly say I love the palette created some fun looks and can add that the colors stay all day did not vanish or disappeared like sometimes happen with other brands haha. I love the palette and I recommend it wholeheartedly. You can create colorful looks but also neutral looks I always use an eye primer before putting eyeshadow is a personal preference but I tested the palette without it and looked as amazing as if an eye primer was used and is on sale now for just $10 and if you use my code femenine you save even more πŸ˜‰

Trying 5 hacks to stop makeup transfer to the Mask 😷

Sadly Covid seems to keep us on a roller coaster what a nightmare we are living as humanity just a few weeks ago Mask was optional for vaccinated people at work now they are back to Mandatory 😩

Hello gorgeous! How are you? I’m good working the usual craziness I have seen how the company where I work had a 360-degree change due to Covid is crazy! As I imagine for all companies and each industry niche. I’m vaccinated and thank goodness has not got covid. I hope you and your loved ones are all well, sound, and safe. Let’s jump into this week’s episode.

So when mask became optional at work I embraced it and loved it being able to breathe haha of course with caution not touching my face and using hand sanitizer constantly as well avoiding crowded places in other words just work and home.

I live in Miami Florida where the epicenter of the coronavirus is as the high delta Variant increases the cases. Don’t take me wrong of course I am pro-Mask and also respect the ones that don’t. So I put to the test 5 no makeup transfer to the mask..was an interesting little journey haha here each of them πŸ˜‡

Monday: I tried the Foundation hack by Victoria Lynn. Well did not work for me, haha and this was my fault I realized this was not geared to stop makeup transfer but to make it last longer and not crease. It did transfer plus I used any regular lipstick and that transfer too πŸ˜…

The photo was taken around 1 pm luckily I was wearing a subtle color lipstick.

Tuesday: I tried the viral video from Jackie Aina. After realizing my mistake on Monday I tried this one and well did not do well for me haha I also did not have the setting spray mentioned in the video so I used a hydrating one from prep + prime MAC also putting concealer first is no for me but did it for the sake of trying this it moved around after putting foundation 😩 I could fix it but not fun. she puts matte products and I am dry skin so matte is not my friend haha I used Il Makiage after-party Matte foundation I like and don’t like this foundation I love its full coverage even my fine lines get smoothed out! But it makes my face dry. When done it felt like I had a mask on gripped to my face πŸ˜†

Taken also around 1 pm the heat in FL does not help haha this one looks worst than Monday.

Wednesday: I tried the hack from You Tuber Leyla Rose. She offers a new way as in each of the videos here I found that blotting your face with a tissue is a good idea. I felt pleased with this one I could see hope! My mask had little transfer πŸ™‚

Thursday: I tried Manny MUA mask hack. This one is a one a really like I spoke about this one on another episode I had some transfer but felt comfortable. I also saw that if you spray a matte setting spray to your mask is going to give extra help preventing the makeup transfer πŸ˜‰

Friday: I tried this Tik Tok Hack from a nurse that I also spoke about in another episode but could not remember her name well her username there is Angellynrodz and she just put makeup on the upper part of the face leaving the most part where the mask goes makeup-free. I put up to half of my nose and used a Matte lipstick I cannot be without a lippie haha. This idea is awesome you don’t use much of your products and your skin under the mask can breathe more easily. Only transferred a bit from my nose. πŸ˜‡

The hacks were fun to try for a week my photos were all taken around 1 pm and stayed like that until back from home after work. a few things to keep in mind you got to try and is okay if it doesn’t work that’s how you find what works doing some trial and error. Using all matte products is paramount to achieve the goal of no makeup transfer.

I liked the one from Manny MUA it goes more alongside my routine but I also really like the one from Leyla Rose and love the one from Angelly the nurse. You can mix their ideas to make them work better for you!

two products I recommend you can use any products you already love as long they are Matte πŸ™ƒ I like the Milk Hydrogrip this grasps your foundation to it. For the lips, I love the Matte Lip Whip from beauty bakery. This ones also grasps your lips does not budge for anything you can leave it at home and forget about it is going to look as fresh and crisp as when you put it on.

  1. Do you wear Makeup under your Mask or prefer not to until the Pandemic is over?
  2. Which video here do you find more interesting?

Skin Care Pevention is easier than correction.

I went to Macy’s just a typical day to buy a foundation and the guy taking care of me asked do you moisturize? I’m like no I don’t very innocently his Jaw dropped to the floor he could not believe it! I was in my mid 30’s this day was a historical day in my life I will never forget it. It’s ingrained in my mind πŸ™ˆ

Hello gorgeous! How have you been? I hope you are doing great. I’m pretty good, taking one day at a time being grateful for having life in me, and grateful to have you here today reading my blog means the world to me πŸ™ƒ let’s begin!

As I started prevention is easier than correction this means taking care of the skin as early as possible to keep it in the best condition, slow the aging process, and avoid spending a lot of money to fix it. These are true words I wish someone when growing up told me the importance of this.

There are some easy things to do for your skin πŸ™ƒ wash your face daily even when not wearing makeup, exfoliate and moisturize.

You can find affordable skincare products as well as expensive ones the difference is in the ingredients, making the expensive ones better in working towards the results wanted.

The good news here since not all of us can afford expensive skincare is that you can find great inexpensive skincare products too! the key is in the ingredients so when buying them take a minute to read the label 😊 here are some important ingredients to look for:

  • Hyaluronic Acid: a humectant that helps the skin hold onto water, helps hydrate the outer layers of skin, thereby improving the skin’s appearance. Hydrated skin is touted as being more radiant and youthful-looking.
  • Ceramides: are made up of long-chain fatty acids that are linked with other important molecules to promote cellular function. It helps to create a barrier to prevent permeability This locks moisture into your skin, which helps prevent dryness and irritation.
  • Retinol: is a type of retinoid, a derivative of vitamin A. It can improve skin texture and tone and can also help combat conditions such as acne. Also has graceful aging effects by stimulating collagen production and cell turnover.
  • Niacinamide: works with your skin’s natural chemistry to improve overall skin texture by rebuilding a lipid layer. minimizing the appearance of pores, and preventing UV damage and inflammation as an antioxidant, Not only does it do numerous favors for the skin, but it also works for numerous skin types.
  • Glycerin: It’s a moisturizer that attracts more moisture. Is essentially like a sponge that pulls in water to the outer skin layer, It can attract water from the deeper skin layers or even the air in humid environments. It also helps slow the evaporation of water from your skin to help foil that chronic winter dryness.
  • Vitamin C: is an antioxidant, meaning it protects skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure. It also inhibits melanin production in the skin, which helps to lighten hyperpigmentation and brown spots, even out skin tone, and enhance skin radiance.
  • Salicylic Acid: When applied to the skin may work by helping the skin to shed dead cells from the top layer and by decreasing redness and swelling and clearing pores. This decreases the number of pimples that form and speeds healing.

In my case as I stated earlier up to my mid 30’s I did not know the importance of skincare like face sunscreen protection the Gentleman at Macy’s was maybe just trying to do a sale but to me was a game-changer aha moment a day I started taking care of my skin. Better late than never right πŸ˜‡

Some Skin care products I use listed below.
  • Clean & Clear face wash morning and nighttime
  • Glow recipe fruit babies bestseller kit. I got this from Sephora I am not set on a brand always looking but is ok smells good.
  • Dr. Barbara Sturm lip balm. To combat or slow the appearance of mouth lines. I do like this one is a bit expensive but does help.
  • Nivea faces cream. It hydrates but leaves the face oily so I use it once a week.
  • Loreal collagen moisture filler.
  • Pore Blackhead one-shot pack. This one is a mask to help remove black beads is well-reviewed but I don’t like it much since has not fully removed the beads I think the stripes are better.
  • Equate SPF 30 wrinkle repair. I like it is not heavy to put under makeup.

My beautiful people just remember when shopping to look at the label for some of these ingredients there are a ton of products out there that the package may look amazing, smell amazing, and at a bargain! but may have none of the ingredients you need and do nothing for your skin so reading the labels are absolutely important.

Also, another thing that helps greatly to the skin is so simple yet not easy for all to do and that is water! I mean no easy because few drink a large amount of water but is so important to do so.

Water reduces Wrinkles, keeps your body hydrated and refreshed, helps maintain your skin elasticity. People who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from scars, wrinkles, and soft lines and they won’t show as many signs of aging as those who drink little amounts of water.

I must confess my beauties that I’m considering botox I have frownies on my forehead that I don’t like at all, haha and I’m scared well terrified of mouth lines or as some call Monkey lips lol But I’m also concerned about Botox I have seen some terrible outcomes in celebrities. Where I live you have Spas that are affordable and Doctors like plastic surgeons or dermatologists I prefer a Doctor feels safer that way. I might go see one shortly if I do it I will blog about it, the experience, and feelings. encountered. Why are we so scared of aging huh!

  • How old were you since you realized the importance of skincare? Were you like me clueless on this haha
  • What is your favorite skincare product you swear by and why?
  • Have you considered botox?
  • Do you drink the recommended daily dosage of water?

I wish you a great week ahead I hope it goes well for you. Be safe out there. Love life and help each other out. Drink lots of water!
